The Master’s degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership with a Specialization in Special Education at Oklahoma State University is designed to meet the needs for both experienced educators and those seeking initial licensure. This degree program qualifies graduates to work with children of all ages who have mild to moderate disabilities. Classes are conveniently scheduled for evenings and weekends. In addition, there are both online and classroom-based courses in this program, making it a great choice for busy teachers. Students can expect to take courses on behavior management, teaching students with autism, language arts, research design, educational advocacy and leadership, culturally responsive teaching and improving literacy skills. In addition, students have the option to write a thesis or complete a “creative component” project, in addition to successfully completing a practicum with exceptional learners. There is a minimum of 36 credit hours required for program completion.
