While there are not many options for Master’s in Special Education Degree Programs in Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University offers a well-respected and high quality program. This master’s degree program is perfect for those seeking to pursue a career in the field of special education. The field of special education is a highly challenging one, but one that can also be very rewarding. Professionals can work in school settings, from preschool through high school, with children who have varying degrees of special needs. College of Education

The College of Education at Oklahoma State University offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The Master’s degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership with a Specialization in Special Education at Oklahoma State University is designed to meet the needs for both experienced educators and those seeking initial licensure. This degree program qualifies graduates to work with children of all ages who have mild to moderate disabilities. Classes are conveniently scheduled for evenings and weekends. In addition, there are both online and classroom-based courses in this program, making it a great choice for busy teachers. Students can expect to take courses on behavior management, teaching students with autism, language arts, research design, educational advocacy and leadership, culturally responsive teaching and improving literacy skills. In addition, students have the option to write a thesis or complete a “creative component” project, in addition to successfully completing a practicum with exceptional learners. There is a minimum of 36 credit hours required for program completion.

The College of Education’s program is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and nationally recognized by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).
